Celebrating the 210th Birth Anniversary of Bhanubhakta Acharya at Marybert School
On 12th July 2024, Marybert School joyously commemorated the 210th birth anniversary of Bhanubhakta Acharya, Nepal’s revered first poet. The event was a resounding success, celebrating our rich literary heritage and encouraging a love for literature among our students.
The day’s festivities began with a warm welcome, as students and staff gathered to honor Bhanubhakta Acharya’s enduring legacy. Each grade contributed to the celebration by performing a variety of poetic narrations, both in group and solo formats. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by our students were truly remarkable, with over 20 performances highlighting the depth of their creativity and dedication.
Among the standout moments was a captivating drama on the life and works of Bhanubhakta Acharya, which provided a vivid portrayal of his contributions to Nepalese literature. The drama, along with the poetry recitations, received enthusiastic applause from the audience, reflecting the students’ hard work and the guidance of their teachers.
To recognize and reward the outstanding performances, prizes were awarded to the top three groups and solo performers. The winners demonstrated exceptional skill and passion, setting a high standard for future literary events at Marybert School.
The program concluded with an inspiring speech by our esteemed Principal, Sabina Thapa. She emphasized the importance of cultivating a habit of reading and nurturing creativity in our daily lives. Her words resonated with both students and parents, reminding us all of the transformative power of literature and the arts.
The 210th birth anniversary celebration of Bhanubhakta Acharya was a memorable event that not only paid tribute to a literary icon but also encouraged our students to explore and appreciate the beauty of poetry and storytelling.
